I've only recently begun to do research on the Maya languages and Maya tribes.
I'm far more familiar with the ANCIENT Maya than the modern Maya tribes.

Maya
According to my sources, the Chontal languages are NOT Mayan but Hokan. This may be a confusion with the Chontal people of Tabasco, who are Mayan. I have changed the article accordingly.--Rockero 04:31, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
