Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that one of your recent edits added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, likely in an attempt to display that image on the page. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you. Yosemiter (talk) 01:11, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Cochrane Crunch has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. Yosemiter (talk) 01:31, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Typerr, please avoid using default edit summaries when updating Wikipedia. For example, you are selecting "fix typo" as an edit summary, when that is not actually what you are doing. It would really help other editors if your edit summary is accurate. Thank you. Flibirigit (talk) 02:21, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Seattle. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Yosemiter (talk) 22:49, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

0xF8E8

You do realize that Ian is an administrator, and that he was reverting the latest in a series of edits that 0xF8E8 has himself reverted, and that you might be a little confused? Acroterion (talk) 19:15, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And while I'm here, please explain this edit [1], which you claim was a typo correction. Acroterion (talk) 19:16, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You did it again. Stop sticking the professional logo into the article. Acroterion (talk) 19:26, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This [2] isn't a typo correction either. Please use accurate edit summaries. Acroterion (talk) 19:31, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: Thanks for catching this--I also think the templating was really unnecessary. Just for future reference, I'm actually a woman (should probably make that clearer on my user page, as it's easy to make that mistake online). It looks like Typerr is continuing to use "added content/fixed typo" summaries inaccurately, e.g. this edit which broke a table. Gonna try directing them to the Teahouse. —0xf8e8 (talk) 20:26, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I know I’m not an administrator, but I say we should all work together to stop hacking. Typerr (talk) 19:22, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My edit to User:0xF8E8 was reverting vandalism by a different user. And that was two years ago.
Your "warning" (even if in good faith) was out of place and inappropriate.
Try gathering all the facts (or at least any of the facts) before acting like an authority. Ian.thomson (talk) 19:26, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you might want to try The Wikipedia Adventure to learn more about editing, and read Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors. Ian.thomson (talk) 19:32, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I second Ian's advice. Please be very careful about posting personal information on Wikipedia or anywhere else on the Internet. Acroterion (talk) 19:34, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I am very sorry to all. I’ll try not to make any more mistakes Typerr (talk) 19:39, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this edit.
It is OK for people to edit their own user page.
It is not OK for people to make changes to other people's user pages. That is why it is OK to undo changes people make to other people's user pages (because it is bringing the page back to how that user wanted it). Ian.thomson (talk) 20:56, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"Typo" means "typographical error," which is something like a spelling mistake, or missing or incorrect punctuation (periods, commas, that kind of thing). It is not a general term for "mistake." Quit using the "fixed typo" summary for every edit. Ian.thomson (talk) 01:07, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for apologizing, Typerr. Ian.thomson was simply reverting someone who added nonsense to my page, which is perfectly acceptable and shouldn't raise alarm. I would advise slowing down a little and getting more familiar with how to do things on WP before making further edits: for instance, I recommend reading our guide on citing sources, as well as our page on edit summaries. Edit summaries like "fixed typo" or "added content" are called canned because the software just provides those as examples--they're not always a good summary to use. Generally, you should try to describe what the edit does, e.g. "added Sudbury Cubs logo" or "format team colors". If you have difficulty with any of this, you can ask questions over at the Teahouse, where experienced editors can guide you on what to do. —0xf8e8 (talk) 20:26, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of 2017–18 NOJHL season

Hello Typerr,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2017–18 NOJHL season for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Edit summaries, again

Once again, please use brief, specific edit summaries that state what you did, for the benefit of other editors who follow after you. Rather thatn stating (incorrectly) "added content," or the uninformative "improved," please give us something like "altered text colors to coordinate with logo." Just say what you did, rarther than adding a useless generic statement. That's the point of an edit summary: summarize your edit, please. Acroterion (talk) 00:54, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

GNML edit invitation

Hello Wikipedians! Can you help me edit my Wikipedia page: GNML? It would be a great help Typerr (talk) 02:02, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A bit of advice regarding that page: We have a standard called notability, and it says that articles should cite independent reliable sources to prove that the subject is noteworthy. If it doesn't have those sources, the article can be proposed for deletion.
This means that you should find and cite at least two or three professionally-published mainstream academic or journalistic sources that are specifically about the league, but not affiliated with it. So a newspaper or magazine article, for example. Ian.thomson (talk) 21:20, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Too much information

Don't put your age or birthday on your userpage. I've removed it in your own interest. Acroterion (talk) 00:31, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ravenswing. I noticed that you recently removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You've done this to several NHL articles now; please stop. Ravenswing 23:07, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to List of defunct and relocated National Hockey League teams, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Edit summaries

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! 2019 RBC Cup

All Wikipedians, I need help editing the 2019 Royal Bank Cup page. This is a very new page so I don’t have much information. Typerr (talk) 02:09, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is probably a little early to start that article, seeing as the 2018 tournament has not even been played yet. Aside from some basic info like date and location, there really won't be much info to add right now. The article will likely need to remain a stub until that information is available.Rkehler3 (talk) 19:46, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

2019 Telus Cup moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, 2019 Telus Cup, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 02:09, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for editing Telus & Esso Cup articles

Hi Typerr, thanks for the message. It is I who should be thanking you for your contributions to the 2018 Telus Cup article. I have been doing most of the serious copy-writing/editing of the Esso & Telus Cup articles the past 6 or 7 years, largely because few others want to. The other edits are usually made by fans adding info on behalf of their home team, etc. I appreciate your time and effort on this project and encourage you to keep going. As a rule, I like to keep the individual season articles consistent from year to year, but if you have any ideas for improving articles, please feel free to share on the article Talk pages. Rkehler3 (talk) 20:02, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you changing the order of the May 4th Group A games? They matched the official schedule as they were.18abruce (talk) 23:33, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dmitri Sokolov (ice hockey) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NHOCKEY as only a 7th round pick and an entry-level contract. WP:TOOSOON until he plays an NHL or KHL game (or few more years when he hits 200 AHL games).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Yosemiter (talk) 12:33, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Great North Midget League for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Great North Midget League is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Great North Midget League until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Yosemiter (talk) 14:31, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Making new pages

In regards to your current pages that up for deletion, I highly recommend carefully reading Wikipedia:Your first article. After that, read WP:Notability and WP:BLP for people. Hockey players in specific are only presumed notable when the meet one of the criteria that is listed in WP:NHOCKEY or the General Notability Guidelines found in WP:N. From this point forward I highly suggest to create new articles in the WP:DRAFTSPACE and submit them through Articles for Creation where other editors will provide constructive criticism for subjects that may or may not be suitable per the standards I listed (such as your lack of use of citations for all your articles). Thank you, Yosemiter (talk) 21:04, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can you stop it please, trying to give it the benefit of the doubt and not call you a vandal. Look up the facts before editing, for final ranking either look here, here (page 4), or at a previous year. Group ranking counts before points, always has.18abruce (talk) 11:44, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ENOUGH!!!

U KNOW WHAT??? U MORONS ALL SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH! WIKIPEDIA IS A STUPID SON OF A BITCH WEBSITE AND U GUYS ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO IMPROVE IT!! SCREW THIS, IM LEAVING!!!!! Typerr (talk) 19:59, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Typerr. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Dmitri Sokolov".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. AaronWikia (talk) 00:31, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
