Name change for Sefaattin Tongay page
@Ternera Thank you for your comments on Sefaattin Tongay. The faculty has changed their official name. Please see the four references below. Could you help me to change the name of the wikipage. I couldn't figure this one out yet. Thank you for your time https://search.asu.edu/profile/2397559 https://scholar.google.ca/citations?user=EbRbrREAAAAJ&hl=en https://asu.elsevierpure.com/en/persons/seth-ariel-tongay https://experts.azregents.edu/en/persons/seth-ariel-tongay RabbiSamu (talk) 16:39, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @RabbiSamu! Thanks for providing the sources, that's very helpful to include with your edits. You may want to check Help:Rename and WP:MV for information about moving or "renaming" a page. Have a good day! Ternera (talk) 16:44, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
Mistake
Bear Creek, being such a small wiki page and small thing in general, all info that is about it should be added. If you believe it is not constructive, may I ask why? Hero ofhyrule19 (talk) 20:58, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
For the sake of my own curiosity...
I saw your reversion note for the AnonIP that did the edits to Sky (English/Australian band) - they were still on my temporary watchlist. For giggles I looked at the diff and am curious what you didn't find constructive about it? It appears (at least to me) to be substantial and contributory in nature, and also seems to be well-cited & ref'ed. Granted I know nothing regarding that band - so for all I know it could all be fictional information & cites :) Genuinely curious, thanks! --Picard's Facepalm • Made It So Engage! • 20:47, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Picard's Facepalm, thanks for bringing that up. I saw the last couple of edits from the IP while I was using Huggle earlier and my initial reaction was that it was vandalism. Taking a closer look, the edits make sense when you see them in context with all of the recent edits. I'm going to revert my edit at this time. Appreciate you checking this. - No problem, and thanks for the feedback. I was just curious and had the opportunity to see the totality if the change in the diff. I agree the last few edits may have appeared as odd, when taken out of context for the totality of their edits. I figured to bring the question here rather than on the IPs talk page or in the article. I am good either way - I just wanted to check :) Thanks for taking another look. Appreciate your efforts! --Picard's Facepalm • Made It So Engage! • 21:35, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
Wanting my own Wikipedia edited
I have been trying and trying to edit my own Wikipedia page as you wrote to me about you removing my edit as I didn’t have a reliable source of where the information came from. Well obviously I do as the page is about me so of course I have the correct information for Wikipedia. Please advise how you will verify myself so my page can be corrected? Thank you Ma03032023 (talk) 15:09, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Editing your own Wikipedia page is a WP:COI issue and should be avoided. Just because someone claims to be someone does not mean that they may add any information and say they are a source. Any claims that a person makes need to be backed up with a reliable source that agrees with the claims. Ternera (talk) 15:46, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Yep I fully respect this. How can I prove I am Adam to edit where required and updating it accordingly? Of course I can have all I am saying verified as well. Ma03032023 (talk) 18:41, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
