Census updates
Make sure to properly update links if you're changing the title, as done at Westport, Washington. Also, I'm not sure that it's an appropriate time to run these changes, as the complete dataset is not yet released for cities and thus the unequal presentation between different years might confuse readers. - Hi Sounder Bruce, thanks for posting. I clicked "diff". You changed to "United States Census Bureau". Not U.S. Census Bureau. You changed to city's name for not capitalization. Etc. --Rossdegenstein (talk) 19:28, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- I was referring to your use of
2020 census
. Note that the two don't match up. SounderBruce 22:03, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- I was referring to your use of
Adding population estimates
Hello, I noticed you added some 2021 population estimates to some list of municipalities. Generally estimates are not considered encyclopedic as they are often way off the actual census counts, so it's best to just stick with census numbers. There are quite a few lists that need updated to the 2020 census if you would like to help there! Mattximus (talk) 01:18, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, where I add "adding population estimate"? In the Edit summary line? I do not add "2020 Census and 2021 Estimates" and/or "2021 estimates"? You got a notification in Dayton, Minnesota? --Rossdegenstein (talk) 04:02, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter messageHello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add Image sizesPer MOS:IMGSIZE, do not set the fixed width of images, especially in infoboxes. The default size is set by the user and is preferable to arbitrary sizes. Also, what's the deal with erasing non-breaking spaces in monetary figures? SounderBruce 01:13, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
Census edits (again)Don't undo fixes made to both citations and syntax in the Demographics sections. In particular, edits like this that replace "2010 census" with "census of 2010" are not helpful. SounderBruce 06:11, 16 January 2024 (UTC) City infobox nameConcerning your recent edits, reminder that the name above the infobox should be <CITY>, <STATE> per WIKIPEDIA:USCITY, if you disagree then please discuss at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline. • Sbmeirow • Talk • 19:52, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
Area figuresPer MOS:UNCERTAINTY, the area figures should be rounded to a more conservative significant digit. In this case, it's preferable to go no further than the hundredths place. SounderBruce 22:17, 21 February 2024 (UTC) |
