Sam Woolf

Hi - I've noticed your edits to the Sam Woolf article. Thanks for the updates that you made! It looks like some of your edits were reverted because they lacked references. I'll see if I can find references for the information you added. Let me know if you can help! --Jpcase (talk) 15:13, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see that a lot of the info you added was copied word-for-word from the bio on Woolf's official web page. Keep in mind that Wikipedia has a strict prohibition on copyright violations. When adding content to Wikipedia, try to phrase it in your own, original words if you can, and if you can't, at least make sure to attribute it as a quote. I was able to source everything, except for the statement about Woolf currently living in Los Angeles - could you explain to me how you learned that? Is it something you read online, or is it something you know from having a personal connection to Woolf? --Jpcase (talk) 23:53, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am Sam's Uncle, so that is how I knew he move to LA. I also wrote the text on Sam's Official web page, so there is no copyright issue.

Your User Name - and a suggestion

Hello, @RNATHERAPIST:, I could not help but notice your user name which startled me. I read it as RNA THE RAPIST, because that is what it spells. You might want to consider changing your user name to something that can not be construed as offensive. I noticed that you are editing in the area of genetics, and so I assume good faith on your part. You could request a name change to something less controversial, such as RNA_Therapist. Here are some guidelines for changing your user name: Wikipedia:Changing_username. Thank you. Netherzone (talk) 14:23, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh my gosh, I didn't see it that way. I will request a name change to RNA_Therapist, who do I request this.

Thanks for getting back to me. I think this link is the correct venue for a simple name change: [1] If you have a global account, (on multiple wiki's) then you may need to use a different venue (the info is in the link I sent earlier in the Aug. 2 message. Good luck with it, I imagine it's a fairly strait forward process. Thanks again. Netherzone (talk) 21:47, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This has been corrected I am now RNA Therapist.

RNA Therapist, At wikipedia, we ask that users sign their posts on Talk Pages. You do so by ending your message with four tildes ~ That bit of code (four tildes) will automatically place your signature and time code after your post. For more information see this: [2] Also, when responding on talk pages, it is customary to indent your message from the one above it. You do that by adding a colon before your message. Make sure to look at the message above so that you place the correct number of colons. For example, since my message has one colon before it (when you view the raw code embedded in the text while in the editing mode) you would add two colons after it if you were to respond. It's a good idea to view the various tutorials for editing wikipedia, such as this one [3] and becoming familiar with the wikipedia policies [4] Netherzone (talk) 17:10, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
