Managing a conflict of interest

Categories on draft pages

We keep those extra ':' characters in categories on Draft pages so they don't become linked in categories that should only list Wikipedia pages that have been moved to the article mainspace - in short, please leave them in there until your draft gets accepted. - MrOllie (talk) 17:31, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article is about an example of home automation software, a list of which exists at List of home automation software and it seems to me that this article is created with the desire to see it listed amongst the other products, rather than this product being notable in its own right to the level required of a Wikipedia article. There are some other products in the list that have Wikipedia articles and are also questionably notable, but that isn't a reason for creating one more article of questionable notability. For this article to be approved, I believe there would need to be coverage beyond reviews, or articles by bloggers.
