citation needed fix... question

Hi, Brvynky. I noticed this recent edit of yours, which caused the article Hootenanny to be added to Category:Pages containing citation needed template with deprecated parameters because the {{citation needed}} template was used incorrectly. This particular mistake, where the dates are used like this, is very commonly made and I have been trying to figure out why. Could you explain why you used the templates as you did?
