Re: the VH page. Allmusic has been rejected at wp:rs and wp:music as a reliable source for music genres (since they don't actually list sub-genres -- they break things into genre and style) Also, the VH main page already has a long standing consensus not to add anything other than hard rock or heavy metal to any VH related articles. Hope that clears up your error. The Real Libs-speak politely 13:21, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little concerned as to your reasoning for nominating that article for deletion. Your nomination came off to me as a simple case of WP:IDONTLIKEIT. You may think it's not appropriate, but it is a subject that has been written about in multiple reliable sources, and isn't that one of the criteria that defines notability? I think your discussion would've been better warranted for the talk page, because nominating an article for deletion simply because you dislike it may be seen as disrupting Wikipedia to make a point. • Still, AfD is not the place to take merge discussions. If you felt a merge was appropriate, you could have simply put {{merge}} up instead. Merge doesn't require deletion. Sorry if I seemed accusatory, I just thought that it seemed quite the pointy AFD. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 19:30, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PGP and SHA boxes

Hey. Always glad to help someone with crypto interests. I'm not sure though if you're wondering about the pgp box or the identity commit boxes since they're different but have overlapping purposes. The identity commit template is: {{User committed identity|PUT HASH HERE|SHA-512}}. With a 512 hash it tends to scroll the screen, so most people do something to size it down. I don't actually have one up, but I'm familiar with them (the PGP key is an equally adequate identifier).

I fought with the PGP boxes for quite a while, but what I have working on my user page right now seems to work pretty well. I wanted to include the key on the actual page, as putting in another website ref introduces another point of failure. Try this format:

{{PGPkey |keyid=PUT HEX OFFSET KEY ID HERE |pubkey=PUT PGP KEY HERE INCLUDING CARRIAGE RETURNS }}

I think I've seen other users include key fingerprints this way, but of course that doesn't provide any extra security. I'd check out the template format for more details. Shadowjams (talk) 08:19, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

belief rebirth!

Dear Amaraiel,

I'm reaching out to researchers and writers interested in the emerging, or re-emerging, movements inspired by ancient culture in the areas of religion/theology/mythology/culture...I spare-headed an artistic collaboration between a music professor, rock-vocalist and poet to create a modern multi-media experience of the cathardic journey inspired by ancient pagan poetic traditions; A romance to nature seen as a beautiful, divine and omnipotent woman.

It has singularly been my goal to respect tradition while allowing a free and spontaneous interpretation...I believe the utility of a quasi-rebirth of some aspects of the ancient religious tendancies would be achieved in an increase of tolerance, sympathy, and freedom of expression in our modern discoures on religion...so much needed. Until we have a cultural revolution tantamount to the politcal revolutions of the 18th and 19th centuries [aiding the rebirth of a government of, by and for the people] in the area of religion, I will not rest. Until the rebirth of religions which are of, by and for the people, as fluid as art, as deep as mythology and theology and as powerful as culture, I do not believe we will be truly free no matter what economic or political conditions surround us. Democracy without a democratic cultural is as frustrating as it is ineffectual.

If you have a moment could you peruse the poetry project site. http://www.misbeliever.net As you are a worker in these areas, having ebhanced the Wikipedia, the world's greatest encyclopedia, I would be very honored with any remarks or critisms you could offer either me or my collaborators.

thanks much,

sincerely
