- Comment: I just added an ALT 1 because a new and more interesting fact just emerged. I greatly prefer the ALT 1 to the original hook, since it's more catchy/interesting. If ALT 1 is selected, TheMeaningofFun should receive co-author credit, as they added that fact to the article.

New enough, long enough, well referenced, neutrally written, no close paraphrasing seen. The ALT1 hook says he "kicked" the field goal, while the article says he "scored" the field goal. The source, however, says "kicked". Considering that you're using the word "kick" twice in the hook, would you like to say "scored" as in the article? QPQ done. - I have no issue with that; feel free to copyedit my hooks without comment, by the way. So long as a major fact isn't removed, I won't care. - Perhaps the terminology might be different in Canadian football, but the coverage of American football in the U.S. would typically say the kicker "made" a field goal, or the team 'scored" on a field goal, but it wouldn't be common to say a kicker "scored" a field goal. Can BU Rob13 confirm if this is common usage in Canada?—Bagumba (talk) 23:22, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- I'm actually an American with no knowledge of Canadian football outside of what I've learned researching articles. Don't even ask how I got into this; I have absolutely no idea. I've almost exclusively heard and read the wording "kicked a field goal" in my personal experience, so maybe we should remove the redundancy in the first part of the hook, not the second. The action makes his position evident, and if anyone misses the boat, there's links to his position in the article itself. ~ RobTalk 23:36, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
