Question Why exactly has this been proposed for deletion? It looks like it could be greatly expanded and it needs sources but if it's really the second-largest Hispanic food supplier in the Northeastern U.S. I would say it should be worth at least a stub, no? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Prezuiwf (talkcontribs)

Comments regarding speedy deletion proposal

  • Oppose deletion - When I created the article, I made sure that it asserted its notability. The article stated that the company is the second largest Hispanic food distributor in Northeastern US, I believe that's clearly an assertion of notability. Dionyseus 08:21, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose deletion. It looks notable, as a large distributor of Hispanic foods. Let's inquire seriously into this first, before making a snap judgement. We need to be deliberate and reasonable with all actions we take here at Wikipedia. Badagnani 08:22, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose deletion. If Goya Foods gets an article, so should this. grendel|khan 08:31, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but Goya is an international brand. Vitarroz is a regional distributor. There's a big difference there. Please keep in mind that this is not an AfD discussion. Oppose deletion doesn't mean anything on a talk page. --Адам12901 Talk 08:47, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is inappropiate to speedy tag an article that asserts notability. If an article does not meet the criteria for speedy deletions, you should put it in AfD instead. Dionyseus 08:57, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I do not feel that this article asserted notability. That's why I tagged it for speedy deletion. --Адам12901 Talk 09:32, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The statement "second largest supplier and distributor in northeastern United States" is an assertion of notability which instantly excludes the article from being speedy deleteable as an A7. Dionyseus 09:41, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
