Symbols for mark and space

Do editors have views as to which of the following is preferable for this and other articles about cryptanalysis of the Lorenz cipher?

  • As in "The General Report on Tunny": Mark = x, Space =
  • As may be more familiar to the current generation: Mark = 1, Space = 0

Pronunciation

I don't see a problem. "Turing" is clearly TEWR-ing. To this just add "ery" as at the end of "machinery". --TedColes (talk) 10:10, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
