Talk:The Sunday Correspondent

I am confused by this entry. I have a complete (if rather faded) copy of the newspaper dated September 30, 1990 and numbered 001. The headline is "MI6 SAYS WAR IN SIX WEEKS" (referring to Iraq in Kuwait, at the time). If it was launched on September 17, 1989, then this would have been issue 60. Can anyone shed any light on this?

The wikilink to Peter Cole appears to be to a completely different Peter Cole. Diomedea Exulans (talk) 19:18, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Captain Pugwash

I believe it was the Correspondent which originated the idea that some of the characters in the 1970s animation Captain Pugwash had rude names. It's even been suggested that the costs arising from the subsequent libel case were the main reason for the paper closing down, though this might be as much of an urban myth as the original story.
