Species' name

IUCN and FishBase both list this species as Synodontis caudovittatus. FishBase, in particular, lists S. caudovittata as a synonym and marks it as a "misspelling of the species' name that must not be used": Synonyms of Synodontis caudovittatus Boulenger, 1901
