Conservation status of S. lanuginosum
The citation for the claim that S. lanuginosum is endangered in "much of its native range" is a short whitepaper on Sideroxylon species of Florida. While the paper identifies many Sideroxylon as endangered in Florida, S. lanuginosum is not one of them.
