I propose merging Shobhit Institute of Engineering & Technology into Shobhit University (Gangoh). The former is an institute/faculty of the University mentioned later with same logo and website. Not enough substance to have separate page for the former. User4edits (talk) 15:03, 6 September 2022 (UTC) Withdrawing as below. User4edits (talk) 17:57, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong object: Contrary to what the nom says, these are two independent institutes, so merging them will be confusing and misleading.
  • The former is an institute deemed-to-be-university.[1] The latter is a private university.[2] By definition of the deemed-to-be-university status, the former isn't, and cannot be, an institute/faculty of the University.
  • Contrary to what the nom says, they don't use the same logo. The former uses File:Shobhit University logo.svg. The latter uses File:Shobhit University, Gangoh logo.png. They are similar, but clearly not identical.
  • Contrary to what the nom says, they don't share a website. The former is https://sug.ac.in/. The latter is https://www.shobhituniversity.ac.in/
  • The former is in Meerut, Meerut district. The latter is in Gangoh, Saharanpur district. They don't seem to share location or campus.
I don't remember the details, but I believe it is actually the latter which is an offshoot of the former. I also noticed the confusion and the small edit skirmish over Shobhit University, so I changed that into a dab. --Muhandes (talk) 16:24, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
PS, reading Shobhit University (Gangoh), I see that I was correct. The latter institute was a college of the former institute, and was elevated to a university. --Muhandes (talk) 16:31, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Withdrawing: My bad, it was very confusing. Given all the false private universities doing BOOSTism, I thought something else. User4edits (talk) 17:57, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
