Conflict of interest
At least one major contributor to this article appears to have a close personal or professional connection to the topic, and thus to have a conflict of interest. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request, or by clicking the link on the lowest yellow notice above. Requests that are not supported by independent reliable sources are unlikely to be accepted.
Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:14, 3 July 2016 (UTC)
Factual accuracy and lack of independent sources
I have trimmed this article considerably, removing all claims to awards sourced solely to the subject's own website, and copyediting quite a few of the other assertions which were deliberately misleading. In my view, even the sources in local newspapers and give-away magazines are not independent of the subject. They are interviews and puff-pieces based solely on her press releases, and most of those produced to publicize her Morricone.Uncovered album in 2012. Interestingly, an Italian source from 2012 (Giornale di Sicilia) states that she is "unknown in Italy but a major artist in the US, Australia and Japan". But a 2008 American source states "Arena is not widely-known in the United States. But her talent has been gracing fans in the rest of the world for well over a decade. The 26-year-old artist has had several number-one hits in Italy, Germany, Australia and Japan, selling over 4 million records." I personally find this claim to have sold 4 million records worldwide very dubious. It is simply repeated from one press release to another. In fact, virtually none of her claims to fame can be truly authenticated. There is not a single source from Japan, Germany or Australia attesting to her alleged fame there, and nothing in the US either apart from two puff-pieces in two very local newspapers (Malibu Times and Molokai Dispatch). I have already found and corrected multiple clearly misleading claims as well as misleading descriptions of the sources and the awards. The "awards" can be authenticated, but they are extremely minor. Voceditenore (talk) 13:51, 3 July 2016 (UTC)
I am someone who has first hand knowledge of this singer. Her claim of having a five octave range is patently false, as are many of the assertions in this article.
