Mr. Goodman is now in a re-election campaign. His Wikipedia article has been repeatedly changed by his Republican opposition on several occasions. Also, his ex-wife is making edits as well. Tom rg (talk) 21:49, 23 July 2014 (UTC)My first belief is that this material does not belong in this article at all. Neither side should be using Wikipedia as a platform for allegations in an ongoing election. Buy ad space somewhere if you want to promote your point of view.

The author who cites the news report in footnote [2], has been extremely biased and selective and did not fairly present what that news report reported. I don't know who would arbitrate such back-and-forth claims, or what your process is. Somebody would have to view the story (video), and decide what it means. The story was not even about "Mr. Goodman". It was actually a story about a dirty political ad, as can be seen in the title given to the story by the news organization itself, "Political Ad gets Dirt on Opponent from Divorce Docs". But, whoever reads this request, can view the story if you want and decide for yourself.

In any case, the verbiage that cites footnote [2] does not belong at the top of the article. (for clarity, I paste it in here so you know what I am talking about: "During his 2014 reelection bid, Goodman was the subject of allegations that he had driven under the influence of marijuana with his children in the car. Goodman has stated that the allegations are completely unsubstantiated and originated from a 2012 divorce filing, where he claims that his ex-wife was trying to convince the judge of her then-husband's unworthiness in an attempt to get more money from the divorce.[2]")

I propose to add a new section, "Elections" as follows.

The campaign has become controversial as a State of Washington Republican Party PAC is airing an advertisement as an "independent expenditure" on cable TV repeating allegations from Mr. Goodman's ex-wife's divorce filings. A news story entitled "Political Ad Gets Dirt On Opponent From Divorce Docs" reported that the director of the PAC, Kevin Carns, had in the past orchestrated a hoax in which he sent a fake "there is a sex offender in your neighborhood" post card to promote a Republican candidate. I repeat, it does not seem like ongoing election controversies belong in a biography, until the voters have spoken in November. PArtisans may use the usual means to reach voters, they do not need to make Wikipedia a platform for so doing. But, if it has to be in, then, above, I have correctly summarized what the story actually reported. Note that the title of the story (given by the KOMO news organization, not me) is "Political Ad Gets Dirt On Opponent From Divorce Docs". The story is about a dirty ad, not about Mr. Goodman.
