Lacking information on the purpose of stars

This page should go into specifics rather than saying that a star will just burn a certain color or make a certain spark effect.

Something like:

The solid pellet of pyrotechnical material remains lit for longer, causing the 'array of stars' effect seen in a typical aerial shell, or the 'jet of sparks' in a mine.

I couldn't manage to word this in a way that flowed nicely & seemed grammatically correct, it would be nice if someone would make this edit in the future. Cdpas (talk) 10:56, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Pumped stars = pressure moulded stars?

Pumped stars are stars that have been pumped using a star pump. A dampened composition is put in the star pump and is pressed against a flat surface and ejected again creating cylinder shaped stars.

do you mean pressure moulding? or is "pumping" the technical term?

Unclear

It is unclear what effect "stars" or "sparking" represents. I've noticed that many fireworks produce spherical shells of bright dots, sometimes all white, sometimes other colors. Are these "stars"? I'm just guessing, but WP requires a reliable source, not just a yes or no answer in response to a guess. David Spector (talk) 20:55, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
