I am editing an article of my choice for my college course, this was not assigned by my professor. However, after viewing your edits, I noticed you chose to take out most of the original text. Is Wikipedia only for Americans? It seems you have chosen to take out most of the original information, and it appears that the information you provided only comes from American research. You mentioned that this article requires accurate medical content, did I not provide this content? You kept my original source in the first paragraph under history, as well as at the end of the legal status in Germany. I would gladly appreciate feedback, and constructive criticism, however you imply I have no right to make edits to an article that the rest of the world has access to edit. Hence, Wiki. Thank you. Anyone can edit content on any topic, but there are standards for medical content and sources, as prescribed in WP:MEDHOW and WP:MEDRS. We don't use publications from pilot studies or case reports, as these are too preliminary and uncertain. A MEDRS review would include any national regulatory authority (not only the FDA or DEA, which have provided regular updates on psilocybin). If there are high-quality reviews or national guidelines current within the last 5 years (WP:MEDDATE), those would be useful sources. Zefr (talk) 23:13, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I am wondering why you keep removing the ongoing study researching psilocybin use for the cessation of cigarettes? You flagged the research I provided for the animal experiments done by Dr. Juan Sanchez-Ramos as copyright infringement, therefore, I did not re-insert this edit. However, the clinical study I provided is not subjected to copyright laws. It is a brief overview, and is a vital program in which research is being done using psilocybin. The article is about psilocybin "therapy", which should be a conclusive treatment. The pilot experiment you inserted (here, using under 100 participants) is nearly two years from conclusion, and is only news that it is being done; WP:NOTNEWS indicates an encyclopedia - which should state established facts - is not a newspaper of ongoing events. Even when this study is concluded in Dec 2022, it will still be the result of a pilot investigation, which will be primary research, and an unacceptable source. A WP:MEDRS review would be needed to address the "therapy" value of psilocybin mushrooms. Zefr (talk) 18:39, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

If this is the case, then the journal you used for research on the use of psilocybin for OCD should be taken down. This research is preliminary, small scaled (only 9 participants), and is on a "proof-of-concept" phase 1 research. The journal you provided is primary research, and does adress the value it has on "therapy" for OCD, but it is very much under 100 participants and is only preliminary.Jmorales96 (talk) 20:19, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

I was not the editor who added those sources. I made this edit to employ reviews to state the preliminary research status as of 2020. Removal of this paragraph was justified as it was carelessly written with punctuation and spelling mistakes, ignored two sources already in use (see WP:REFNAME for repeating refs), and used a source from the Drug Policy Alliance, which is an advocacy group for legalizing illicit drugs, i.e., an unreliable, biased source. By definition, a pilot study is a small-scale experiment to formulate the feasibility of further experimentation, defined in a review here. It is at the bottom of human research evidence quality shown in the pyramids of WP:MEDASSESS. Further explanation here. Zefr (talk) 21:56, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Should this article exist?

Misleading Safety section

Why does the safety section cite the CSA classification as the source of valid safety considerations? Those classifications are highly biased and in many cases entirely inaccurate measures of actual safety of substances. Take a look at the Safety section of the MDMA article, and view the diagram there (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rational_harm_assessment_of_drugs_radar_plot.svg). Alcohol is one of the top most harmful recreational substances and isn’t classed as controlled, while the classes of psychedelic substances are ranked at very low risk of addiction, physical harm risk, and social harm risk, and yet are still classed as a schedule I substances. It is an outdated classification system, and more importantly it is a legal classification, not an actual evidence-based measure of safety. This classification belongs in a section addressing legality, not safety. For safety, cite appropriate research (or just use this same diagram, as it is a considerable improvement over the CSA schedules). NorfolkAppendix (talk) 01:03, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
