Attention needed

Are these lects really para-Romani, as Glottolog has it, or para-Domari, as you'd expect for Iran? — kwami (talk) 02:51, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Technically they are neither. Domari is but one contributor to this special vocabulary and calling it “Para-Domari” would unfairly highlight Domari over the others, like Aramaic GharibShah7 (talk) 03:59, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, actual Romani is spoken in Iran (Zargari/Romano) GharibShah7 (talk) 03:59, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Name

In Iran, "gypsies" are neither called Domari, nor Dom, nor Romani, but "Koli". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.233.35.210 (talk) 02:15, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Koli is more of a slur in Iranian society, but there is apparently a group which call themselves that GharibShah7 (talk) 03:58, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Name of this page is very misleading

These cultures have no proven relation to Romani as stated in in the article itself, so why should be page be titled after an ethnic group we (the Ghorbat/Mugat) have no relation to. Neither our identity nor our ethnicity is Romani, it’s a completely separate population. I strongly suggest this page be renamed “Ghorbati” and the page already exiting by this name be edited to “Ghorbat” since the proper name of the people is Ghorbat whereas one of the names for the language is Ghorbati. 213.205.194.77 (talk) 03:55, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
