Does anybody know when the Neenish Tart first appeared in the Edmonds Cookbook? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Philu (talk • contribs) 10:27, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
Origin?
Though the article doesn't support it, the origin of the neenish tart is listed as Germany. In fact, it seems more likely that this is an authentically Australian confection. SkookumDog (talk) 19:28, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- Found an even earlier reference on Trove, the NSW Fresh Food and Ice company advertises "Nenish Cakes" for sale in 1895. Nenish is a surname, though a rare one. MaxBrowne (talk) 05:55, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
