Currently the "history" section reads:

Around 1612, the 20-year-old future Chan-master Yinyuan Longqi arrived at Mount Putuo while looking for his father, who had disappeared fifteen years earlier. He served tea to the monks.

While this passage is appropriately zen... erm, wtf does it have to do with anything? There were apparently already monks on the island... was he the first to popularize the location or associate it with Guanyin or should the passage simply be removed? -220.187.27.190 (talk) 00:29, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
