Gerrymander

How can this article not mention gerrymandering, apart from brief implication. GenacGenac (talk) 19:14, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

MD 8 1960, 1962, 1964

The List of Members section of this page is incomplete. It states the MD 8th Congressional District was reinstated in 1967; this is not correct, as the new district resulted from reapportionment following the 1960 census.

My recollection is that it was initially an at-large district. If you can verify this to Wikipedia’s standards, please add this information to the page and list the member(s) who was/were elected in 1962 and 1964.

Demographics of ethnicity groups in sidebar needs source

I added the numbers for the ethnicity demographics of what would be the new MD-8, with a population that is 38% white, 22% black, 21% hispanic, and 18% asian --- obviously, these calculations were flawed because I calculated them myself and I couldn't find that much information abt multiracial people, native americans, and pacific islanders. (which i should have included, in hindsight)

The sidebar now says the demographics of the district are 44% White, 19.7% Hispanic, 19% Black, 16% Asian, 1.8% Native American, and 0.2% Pacific Islander. These statistics sound much more accurate to the new district than the ones I calculated by myself--- however, there is no source for this data. Is anyone able to find a source for the data of ethnic demographics and percentages in the sidebar? Thanks. Teluguwaifu (talk) 14:15, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
