Heritage Railroad?

I know MER handles freight, but isn't the passenger service technically considered a heritage railroad? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:00, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While they definitely use heritage equipment, their 2014 schedule definitely appears to be positioning them as intending to provide actual connecting transportation service to the Downeaster. Given that, I don't think they're acting as much like a heritage railroad now. MarkHB (talk) 05:05, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

use by Whippany Museum

I rode an excursion train at the Whippany Railway Museum in September 2017, and the train was pulled by Maine Eastern #488. What's the relationship between the museum and Maine Eastern? Elsquared (talk) 03:09, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

After the Maine Eastern was shut down at the end of 2015 the locomotives were sent back to their owner at the Morristown & Erie MidcoastMaineRailfan (talk) 11:34, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
