Minus Human, No Leaf Clover?

why aren't they included? Macdom (talk) 12:56, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Because no official studio version of those songs were released, only live recordings. Andre666 (talk) 15:40, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But the title says "List of songs recorded by Metallica", not "List of *studio* songs recorded by Metallica". That's the stark difference.
I know these two are live songs, but were written by Hetfield–Ulrich duo (that means not covers!), so therefore they should be included.
Similar cases include brand new recorded live song "You Said It All" from Ozzy Osbourne Live E.P. and "Time to Burn" from Dio's live album Intermission. Starigniter (talk) 16:56, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"The money will roll right in" not included. Cover from Fang, recorded in 1985. Fabri73 (talk) 14:33, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Good call! And that one should be also included, because this instrumental piece was released on Master of Puppets (Remastered Expanded Edition) in 2017. Starigniter (talk) 16:57, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New section for "guest appearances"?

Songs like "You Really Got Me", "We Did It Again" or "Brandenburg Gate" aren't really Metallica's songs. First one is de facto guest appearance on Ray Davies's solo album See My Friends, and the second one list also GA on somebody's else work, while the third one is a collaboration, so the real performers/authors are Lou Reed and Metallica, not just Metallica.

If you check pages of ie. Bruce Dickinson or Axl Rose below their sections "discography" you can see the lists titled "Special appearance" or "As session musician or writer".

Should that rule also appear here? Starigniter (talk) 17:05, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
