Having spent all my summers on the river in the figurative shadow of the Conowingo Dam, the dams on the Susquehanna and their interaction with the environment and humans are of interest to me and, I've found from my research, to others. Initially I needed a place to start my list of dams, but realised many of the enviromental details that I've added to Conowingo Dam apply to all the dams, so this wouldn't be a simple "list of". More like the purpose of Iowa class is to USS Missouri (BB-63). I also plan on writing up the rest of the lower Susquehanna dams on their own. And I'll probably throw together one of those useful/annoying nav boxes some day.
When this article gets going, some of the non bridge dams might want to come out of List of crossings of the Susquehanna River. This article also needs to be linked into Susquehanna River at some point, probably in a renamed Bridges section.
I'd like to add a History section to this some day, but don't have enough for even a {{Sectstub}} at this point. Maybe after researching more of the individual dams.--J Clear 16:25, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
