Updates

I had been keeping a list, so I have now imported all of the info into this page. I also added a column to specify whether the species can transmit the virus to congeners. I am unsure of the utility of that column as well as the one about whether it can spread to humans (given the fact that most of them are empty/unknown). I also deleted the "location" column which was not informative. I think it may be a lot more informative to detail whether the animals got SARS-CoV-2 in the wilderness, in a farm setting, a zoo, or companion animals. Even this may present some difficulties as the marmoset was found to be able to get the virus in an experimental setting, but marmosets tested in the wilderness had no traces of it. Wonder what you (and other Wikipedians) think of the issue I raised about the (extremely high, IMO) usefulness of the deleted location column, in light of the ascendance of the Lab Leak hypothesis? In my estimation, any data/info that gives context to or points to potential spillover events would be vital to efforts to answer the question of SARS-2 origin. I think the location discovered is a good column to leave in since it may help give a picture of where (and with the date data, when) the spread and spill overs were occurring which might be useful info in honing in on “the missing link” vector species.
