Talk:List of Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign endorsements/Archive 2

The campaign is over

The election was a week ago. Why are endorsements still being added to this article? It's kind of the past the point of being relevant. Liz Read! Talk! 06:42, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

If the clear endorsement was published before or on election day and that is reported by a reliable independent secondary source, I don't see why it cannot be added any time. There were quite a few outstanding edit requests apart from anything editors find later. --Mirokado (talk) 01:01, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

still to be considered

These involve, at least mostly, performances at campaign meetings. --Mirokado (talk) 20:02, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

I am not sure about adding these.

  • Does performing at a campaign event count as an endorsement?
  • The IP has recently updated the requests with more detailed justifications, so it is worth taking a fresh look.

Please have a look at the following requests and respond if possible. Also please have a look at the request about Evo Morales at #world leader to add.
Thank you. --Mirokado (talk) 14:03, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Mirokado, they didn’t just perform at a concert. It says they helped out or supported or campaigned with Biden which is considered an endorsement. “ A Night at a Pub for Joe, a virtual rally, is inviting Irish Americans to come together in support of Joe Biden.“ is different from just saying “James Galway and Matt Molloy performed at the event”. “ Musical entertainment has always been used as a way to promote, whether it be for an ad or a movie. In this case, Biden is not only raising money for his shot in the White House, but also may increase his chances of getting more votes with well-known artists showing their support” is different than saying “these artists performed at a Joe Biden event”. 2600:1002:B113:38BF:C0CC:220D:DBA8:B3CD (talk) 16:55, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Mirokado, thank you very much. Now for the jazz artists, I think you can add those as well as endorsements since it says they are joining forces to benefit Biden’s campaign and are also part of a group called Jazz for Biden. However if you don’t agree, please let me know why. Thank you! 2603:301B:2702:AE00:41E3:A46D:319E:FAEC (talk) 02:40, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Add James Galway, Glen Hansard, and Matt Molloy (musicians) Here is the exact wording from the article “ A Night at a Pub for Joe, a virtual rally, is inviting Irish Americans to come together in support of Joe Biden.“ should be added https://www.irishcentral.com/events/a-night-at-a-pub-for-joe-biden

Portugal. The Man and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club https://www.laweekly.com/music-pick-livestreaming-team-joe-sings-again/ “Portugal. The Man and the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are the latest artists to get involved with the Team Joe Sings campaign, which sees musicians posting videos on YouTube to show support for Joe Biden’s run at the presidency” is already an endorsement (first line) 2601:8A:4102:B3A0:79D9:6525:6755:B900 (talk) 06:38, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

@Pennsylvania2:, wonderful! Much appreciated. Would you mind taking a look at some of the above artists? I personally think they are all endorsements but maybe some are not. At least please add the ones referring to performing at “Team Joe Sings” which is a campaign where musical artists perform in support of Biden. Also please add Jim Bolger, former pm of New Zealand. Thanks!
I added Bolger and the musicians that I had heard of. Thanks for the sources!Pennsylvania2 (talk) 22:46, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
thank you @Pennsylvania2:, I know everyone’s so busy today! Below are just the two references for those participating in “Team Joe Sings”. Even though these aren’t the most well known musicians, these are the ones who probably campaigned the most and most directly for Biden. It looks like some other members of this campaign have already been added but those performing at the last two concerts were not. If you wouldn’t mind taking a look, that would be great, thank you! I’m the meantime I’ll be scouring the internet for more additions! 2600:1002:B113:38BF:E4B8:B6B9:7CA6:B9F2 (talk) 22:58, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

thank you Pennsylvania2. What are your opinions on Evo Morales? I have an article saying he’d celebrate a Biden victory over Trump. Do you think that should be added? 2603:301B:2702:AE00:41E3:A46D:319E:FAEC (talk) 19:48, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
Sounds like an endorsement. Do you have the link, so I can read it over? Pennsylvania2 (talk) 19:49, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
  • Pennsylvania2, this is it. It was previously rejected by someone else because they were not sure it was an endorsement but said theyd let someone else make the call. What do you think?

Mirokado please don’t get upset I’m just trying to see what other people think and hopefully someone will add it. Plus I added why the above singers and actors should be added and you didn’t comment. Can you please work with me to make some more additions? Thank you 2603:301B:2702:AE00:41E3:A46D:319E:FAEC (talk) 20:12, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Village Pump discussion

I've started a discussion at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)#When_are_endorsements_notable? about when endorsements are notable, with this page as a prime example of things working badly. Your comments are welcome. power~enwiki (π, ν) 01:00, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
