Coeur d'Alene Lake

According to the USGS, the name should be Coeur d'Alene Lake instead of Lake Coeur d'Alene. See U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: Coeur d'Alene Lake Pfly (talk) 17:22, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dam

When was the dam built? The old Lake Creek and Coeur d'Alene Railroad, now partially covered by the lake (I think), was abandoned in 1932. --NE2 21:14, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Post Falls Dams? (there are four in the project, apparently) According to NPDP Dams Directory three, Post Falls Middle Channel, Post Falls North Channel, and Post Falls South Channel were completed in 1906. The fourth, Post Falls Earth Dike, was completed in 1990. It's just a low earth dike am I'm not sure what its purpose is. The Middle and South Channel dams were repaired/modified in 1992 to increase stability. As far as I can tell the Post Falls Dams control the water levels and outflow of Lake Coeur d'Alene, but there are a number of dams along the Spokane River there and I think they are operated in some kind of coordinated fashion so it may not be wholly accurate to say Post Falls Dam is the one controlling the lake. Anyway, looks like 1906 with some updates in 1992. Also seems to be in the process of FERC relicensing. Pfly (talk) 07:05, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lake Coeur d'Alene Creatures

There are rumors of a possible mermaid and another creature in Lake Coeur d'Alene. I thought this article should include that information if possible216.161.136.142 (talk) 02:46, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lead & Toxins In The Water

I don't see any mention of the lead levels or the toxicity of the lake and river systems. Isn't this much of this area contaminated and unsafe? people should know that they are swimming in septic water and even those who do not swim are at risk due to the contaminated dust. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:244:8300:3B09:A054:1D6B:3B81:B2D7 (talk) 07:29, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
