Snakes of Lake Accotink
It is rumored that Lake Accotink has cottonmouth snakes, which are semi-aquatic venomous snakes. Personally, I have only seen northern water snakes below the dam spillway. Is someone able to provide evidence of cottonmouth presence? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.18.248.196 (talk) 05:34, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
- It's known to home a variety of snake species, but the only venomous snake confirmed to my knowledge is the Copperhead. VA houses rattlesnakes in the west and cottonmouths in the south, but I've not known either to be confirmed sighted this far north/east. 151.188.105.252 (talk) 23:00, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
