Talk:Kerr Lake

The article refers to "bream," which is not an official common name for any fish in North America. It is a local common name. However, the general common name is sunfish. That family (Centrarchidae) includes the mentioned largemouth bass and crappie, but the term bream refers mostly to smaller species, possibly including crappie, but definitely including bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus), pumpkinseed (Lepomis gibbosus), green sunfish (Lepomis cyanellus), and rock bass (Ambloplites rupestris), as well as other members of the genus Lepomis. Regardless of what common name one wants to use, however, the link here is to the European bream (Abramis brama), a member of the family Cyprinidae. If one wants to use the term bream, the link should be to Centrarchidae. However, I think it would be better to mention individual species. However, a brief look at Websites about the lake, suggests that most of these species are not found in lake, at least not in large enough numbers to make for a significant fishery.
