location of place and name of article

Hey, Polaron -- It seems my watchlist is lighting up with your edits and moves. I take it from your move and edits on this one, that the National Register listing of this as being in Jewett, Connecticut may be in error, maybe it is in Jewett City, Connecticut instead.

What should be the fully disambiguated name for this place. If Jewett City's "borough" is smaller than the town of Griswold and within it, I would prefer to use (Jewett City, Connecticut). That is what is already expected in National Register of Historic Places listings in New London County, Connecticut. I don't see in its edit history any specific edit directly changing it from the NRIS's Jewett name to Jewett City, but it has been changed there.

Other places that need to be updated are: John Wilson House and Wilson House dab pages, where Jewett appears, and an error report needs to go to the National Register, to be started by putting a note into wp:NRIS info issues. doncram (talk) 03:34, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jewett City is within Griswold. If the smaller entity is preferable for disambiguation, then feel free to rename the article. --Polaron | Talk 05:09, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To confirm, then, Jewett is a typo/wrong, and the community is called Jewett City? To make a correction report, and perhaps to improve the Jewett City article, can you explain if you know it, what is a "borough" in Connecticut and/or this case? The Jewett City article says it is a borough, which to me sounds vague. Perhaps defining a borough (Connecticut) article or something is needed, if borough has an official, legal meaning in Connecticut. Anyhow, I could imagine National Register data entry staff getting an application that reads Jewett City, and truncating it to Jewett, like would be appropriate for truncating New York City, New York, and many other city names. Is a borough another name for a legal town in Connecticut, do you know? doncram (talk) 06:35, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A borough in Connecticut is a municipality that is typically a small section of a town (towns are the primary administrative divisions in Connecticut). A bit more information is in the borough (Connecticut) article that you already linked in your previous note. And yes, the correct locality name is "Jewett City", not "Jewett". --Polaron | Talk 11:41, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually i thot that would be a red-link. Happy to see the term defined, and that you linked to that definition now from the Jewett City article. Moving and reporting error and so on, now. doncram (talk) 18:03, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
