Birth Date

Birth Date: 14 Mar 1917 for John Graas from Social Security Death Index: Born: 14 Mar 1917 buried at: Arlington National Cemetery I am his niece. Graaspiano (talk) 15:33, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this new information. I have confirmed it independently (as best I could) and created a footnote explaining the discrepancy between formerly generally accepted date and this earlier one. Please forgive any apparent skepticism in my doing this; but I'm sure you understand that anyone can claim to be the niece of John Graas and just make something up. Wikipedia is "vandalized" that way all the time. In addition, everything on Wikipedia not supported by verifiable citations is liable to removal. If you could provide some proof that anyone could access about your late uncle's being buried at Arlington National Cemetery (I am unable to find a list of those buried there), we could add that to the article, which would be great! I will add that I have always admired your uncle's music and wish it were better known (hence my starting and writing most of this article). Thanks again. --Alan W (talk) 01:02, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
