In his biography of Hamilton, Ron Chernow mentions Church as one of the two largest shareholders of the Bank of North America in 1783, but not as a director or bank official.WCCasey (talk) 03:31, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
I placed the 'citation needed' template after the assertion that Church duelled with Aaron Burr in 1799. I have not seen that information anywhere else. Ron Chernow (again in the Hamilton bio) states that Church left England following a duel. Maybe that was the previous duel involving the famous pistols?WCCasey (talk) 03:31, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

No mention of slave-owning. I feel that this category should be restricted to people whose slave-owning history was notable in itself. Valetude (talk) 15:19, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
