reversion of article expansion

In the spirit of WP:BRD, I'm wondering why my referenced article expansion was reverted without explanation. I grew up going to this facility and nobody here calls it Fairgrounds Arena; I found one ticket history site that called it that, but Google shows no other references to that name for this arena. Two of the three references to eBay listings and concert ticket photos are deadlinks. I provided context that was missing along with proper citations to contemporaneous news articles. I was planning on further expansion and possibly a DYK submission. Evangp, what's going on here? Katietalk 15:16, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • That's not an answer. Why did you revert the entirety of my cited additions without explanation, Evangp? Katietalk 19:33, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Because you made a false claim about the venues former (and most commonly used) name. I felt that needed reverted immediately. Evangp (talk) 08:22, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is important people know it was called Fairgrounds Arena. Evangp (talk) 08:24, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi KrakatoaKatie
I see you are a big ol' baseball fanatic. Did you watch Barry Bonds? Evangp (talk) 17:15, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I AM A VEnue expert. been stuidying that stuff forever. Evangp (talk) 17:21, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, it's not called Fairgrounds Arena around here. I've never heard it referred to as such until I read this article. Apparently an out-of-town concert promoter called it that once in the 70s and put it on a bunch of tickets, but it's locally known as the State Fair Arena, and some do call it The Big House. The little schools like playing their tournament in a place nicknamed The Big House. (If you're a venue expert, you're no doubt aware that it's a dump. The roof has always leaked, from day one. It was a dump when it was built, it was a dump when the NFR was there and couldn't wait to leave for the Myriad, and it's a dump now. Thank goodness they're about to start on the new arena.) If it's that important to you, fine, I'll leave Fairgrounds Arena there until some other OKC local comes along and removes it. I have cited contemporaneous news references that call it State Fair Arena, so let's put both. As far as baseball goes, not a big Bonds fan for a variety of reasons, but yes, I saw him play a few times as both a Pirate and a Giant. Katietalk 17:36, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
