GA?

Per this discussion, Dennis Brown (talk · contribs) and I have agreed to start working on this article to make this a GA. Here are some things that Dennis mentioned:

  • A French company started the project, abandoned it and sold the thing to someone else about 100 years ago.
  • There is plenty of available information that makes the lake unique.
  • The Alcoa elements are outdated and need to be fixed up.

My concerns here are that there is no history about it, but there is plenty of books about it. If we have sources, please post them here. Also, the lead section needs to be expanded to three-four paragraphs and a word of caution, we must be careful not to violate WP:NPOV. If anyone have sources or have any further suggestions, please post them here. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:27, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources to use

Meanwhile, here are some sources that I found via WorldCat.org:

  • North Carolina. Office of Water and Air Resources (1975). Special report: status of pollution control and water quality, High Rock Lake. The Section. OCLC 50096682.
  • Weiss, Charles Manuel (1981). The water quality of the rivers and tributaries of the Upper Yadkin Drainage Basin and its impact on High Rock Lake. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. OCLC 8089186.

I will add more as I go along. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:39, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Links.

These references (2, 3) of the article http://www.ncgameandfish.com/fishing/bass-fishing/nc_aa073803a/index.html | http://www.campingfriend.com/error.asp?strErr=Customer+Data+is+missing&strPage=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ecampingfriend%2Ecom%2FHighRockLakeMarinaandCampground%2FDefault%2Easp%3F lead to error pages. How can we fix that? Can you help? NickDimou 13:46, 29 September 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by NickDimou (talkcontribs)

  • This external link http://www.alcoa.com/yadkin/en/environment/drought_plan.asp is not updated monthly. It stopped on March 5, 2009. So we must change the "(updated monthly)" to "(last update March 2009)". I think it's rational. NickDimou 17:16, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
    • Sounds right. They are legally supposed to update it regularly, but like so much else, they ignore it. Dennis 17:24, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
