This article is all wrong, at least where I live (Lancashire) feathering refers to that long haircut that Tim Brooke Taylor and several other British celebrities had in the 1970's and 1980's the articles definition may be the american one (I really think that the English Wikipedia should be split, one, for giving american explanations, spelling and grammar and the other the standard British ones) -GeorgeFormby1

Still wrong

Feathered hair is the look of swept-back layers -- like Farrah's hair -- usually held in place with hairspray. Girls would 'feather' their fringe (bangs) once it got long enough. Andy Gibb feathered his hair for a while, if I remember correctly. You are correct. I remember it well, because I could never quite achieve it with my curly hair. This was before flatirons were widely available. I used to use a blowdryer and a round brush, or sometimes a curling iron, and I'd end up with a stiff cylinder of hair on each side of my face. It was a look that screamed, "I'm trying really hard to conform, but can't quite manage it!" Rosekelleher (talk) 20:36, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
