So what factions are there today?

This whole article basically says: "At one point there were 2 factions, but pretty much all the anarcho-capitalists left and now only the minarchists remain." The only other sourced 'faction' I see is the apparent conservative faction. Are there any sources out there that list other factions or at least confirm that there is still a noticeable anarcho-capitalism/minarchist split?--99.38.186.92 (talk) 21:26, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Broadly speaking, it's still anarchists and minarchists, with minarchists comprising somewhere between 75% and 90% of membership. Both groups have several caucuses within the LP. I don't know if I have this exactly right, but maybe someone else can use it as a starting point:
Minarchist
Pragmatist Caucus (Basically wants to focus only on politically popular cuts to government. Sometimes criticized for being 'libertarian lite'. Organized in 2017, but ideologically is older. Strongest supporters of Barr-Johnson-Weld.)
Defense Caucus (Advocates for a strong military and somewhat interventionist foreign policy. Has existed as an organized caucus off and on since the 1970s)
Classical liberals (unorganized as a faction and probably the bulk of party membership. Wants deep cuts to government, but supports a minimal level of government, like roads, police, courts, a small military, etc.)
Anarchist
Mises Caucus (Anarcho-capitalist, born in 2017, but seems to be ideologically PaleoLibertarian, which dates back to around 1990. Socially conservative and hostile to immigration)
Radical Caucus (Anarcho-capitalist, and I think increasingly less socially conservative since the birth of the Mises Caucus in 2017. Has existed off and on since the 1970s)
Audacious Caucus (Anarchists who advocate an 'in your face' political strategy. Began in 2015. Very controversial.)
Socialist Caucus (Anarchists who support free markets, but not capitalism. Very tiny. Started in 2017. Very controversial.) AJPEG (talk) 07:15, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
