SUBJECT: THE LAKE WAS NEVER A GREAT FISHING SPOT EXCEPT FOR GRAMMAR SCHOOL KIDS ON SUMMER VACATION 1954 - 1967. We used to catch other species here on a regular basis 1954 TO 1967. EASTERN CHAIN PICKEREL 9 TO 18 INCHES, 8 ounces TO 12 ounces; YELLOW PERCH - 5 TO 6 OUNCES; TROUT - BROOK OR SPECKLED TROUT - 8 OUNCES. Please note well - The Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) Beer yeast factory was right near the lake. Anytime you fished at the lake or its tributary streams and ponds you would be smelling the beer manufacturing yeast cooking in the factory all day long.
