you can't be of African American descent, if someone's black that would make them an American of African descent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.173.195.17 (talk) 21:20, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

She is not Afro-Puerto Rican. Afro-Puerto Ricans are black people from Puerto Rico, or people with their black ancestors from the island of Puerto Rico, not children of African-Americans who happen to have kids with a Puerto Rican of any race. The correction has been made. --Noopinonada (talk) 02:09, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted another insertion that she is Afro-Puerto Rican, this time by user D'INC2006. Afro-Puerto Ricans are blacks whose black ancestry comes from Puerto Rico, not children of non-black Puerto Ricans and their African-American spouses. For an example of an Afro-Puerto Rican, see the articles on Sylvia del Villard or Roberto Roena.--Noopinonada (talk) 23:19, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only place where I have read a claim that Claudette is Af-Am/PR. Everywhere else it is noted that she was born in New jersey to Puerto Rican parents. This suggests to me that she is a black Puerto Rican, not a Black/Puerto Rican. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.52.215.5 (talk) 20:14, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
