Possible side effects: Venous thrombosis and Meningioma

According to the German Wikipedia [^1], Chlormadinone acetate shares an increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) [^2] or meningonoma (benign brain tumors). [^3] For VTE, the estimated incidence is 6-9/10_000 (CMA group) vs. 2/10_000 (baseline) [^2]

Note that this contradicts to this version of the article, which claims "CMA does not increase the risk of venous thromboembolism."
On the other hand, it is unclear whether the German findings concerning CMA+EE are applicable to CMA alone, or whether the risk assessment might be different concerning CMA use in males. 2003:D3:8714:FA00:A60B:9C2D:84D4:F6EE (talk) 13:58, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
