Talk:Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps

From WikiProjectMed

I have added several links to articles from various Drum Corps websites. I.E Drum Corps World, Corps Reps, Drum Corps Planet. Carolina Gold did have two articles printed by the Greensboro News and Record earlier this year. Unfortunatly the News and Record does not allow free access to the articles online. I have provided the links under the reference area below. Unfortunately, I have only been PR Director for Gold since the beginning of the 2011 season. They have received absolutely NO press since no one with the organization cared enough to try to promote results. So, I am VERY limited as to what I can provide by way of sources. Drum Corps Associates scores section on their website at www.dcacorps.org should provide you with enough information to verify the Corps notoriety. The scores section includes pdf pages that show exactly what the scores were within each caption and overall. I would also like to add our logo in the same vein that Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps shows on their page as well. However, I do not yet know how to accomplish this. Could you provide instruction or guide me to the page that does? Thank you!! Bob Callicutt PR Director, Carolina Gold. Bcallicutt (talk) 21:54, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

Though the sources added to the article so far are not good, a US news search using Newslibrary.com clearly shows there are a number of substantive articles published about the Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, by a variety of newspapers. These need incorporating into the article to avoid other WIkipedia editors questioning ths subject's notability.
The article was written by the PR Director of Carolina Gold and he has openly declared this fact (see comment above which I've copied from the AfC draft page). Care should be taken to write the article in an encyclopaedic way, based on independently published sources, rather than use the article solely as free advertising!
