Discovery

It seems like this paper:

Tamkun JW, Deuring R, Scott MP, Kissinger M, Pattatucci AM, Kaufman TC, Kennison JA. Cell. 1992 Feb 7;68(3):561-72. brahma: a regulator of Drosophila homeotic genes structurally related to the yeast transcriptional activator SNF2/SWI2.

may report the independent discovery of the bromodomain. But I cannot access it to verify that. Alexbateman (talk) 17:08, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the discovery to Tamkun. The article of Tamkun was published earlier than that of Haynes. Also, Tamkun writes ".. which we refer to as the "bromodomain" .." while Haynes writes ".. called the bromodomain (1)" and cites Tamkun. I am not more familiar with the situation than such, though.
