Rewrite required

This article has some issues that warrant a rewrite, or at least some substantial edits.

• The article resembles a fansite, and should be rewritten in a more neutral tone. In addition, some "request citation" flags may be necessary.
  • It's aimed at the 80 million Baby Boomers and is seen nationally from coast-to-coast: Just because there are 80 million baby boomers doesn't mean that this is the intended or actual audience of the program mentioned.
  • Christie has been a familiar face to television news viewers around the world.: Disputable. Unless he specifically worked on CNN International, apart from his duties on CNN, it's likely he may have appeared on the international network infrequently to rarely. More facts about his résumé are needed to support this claim.
  • For many years, this successful newscaster has anchored: If a television journalist is going to keep his job for many years, it can be assumed that he's relatively successful. This point doesn't needed to be repeated over and over again.
  • He has been in the anchor hot-seat for the analysis and reporting of a myriad of live, breaking stories: Is he the busiest anchor in the world? Probably not. Let's not exaggerate here.
  • His extensive career: We get the picture. Really.
  • Media Mogul Ted Turner said, "I like Christie, he has a habit of winning.": Relevant? Maybe, but its use in the article is totally devoid of context, other than just the millionth example of how Brian Christie is a "nice guy".
  • He won the ratings battle at CNN, Headline News, Boston and in San Diego (twice).: Details, please?
  • Ever the journalist, Brian began writing short stories at an early age. That developed into songwriting. He later became a singer, musician and recording artist for a number of prominent record labels including MGM, Roulette and the legendary Sun Records, who gave birth to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and others.: What is this article supposed to be about? Sentence #1 is inappropriate for an encyclopedia, period. The rest of this text could be reformatted and added in a section about his life outside of journalism.
  • Before his extensive career in the television industry: Extensive? I hadn't noticed.
  • Christie was a successful on-air broadcast radio personality: Too many uses of "successful".
  • Brian Christie graduated with high honors: There's no reason for me to doubt it, but the extremely high praise throughout the article makes me want to ask for a source.
• This article's writing style, including capitalization needs improvement. I recommend Wikipedia:Manual of Style.
• This article relies solely on a single source. For all of the information here, more sources are certainly needed. Again, "request citation" flags may need to be added to the article. --Ericdn (talk) 21:32, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
