The Wikipedia article on the South Australian sculptor credits him with Goulburn's Big Merino but confirmation is hard to find. Monuments Australia credits architect Gary Dutallis and Adelaide builder Glenn Senner. In an ABC interview, Apponyi does, jokingly, claim credit for the genitalia, but details were not forthcoming. He says the three-storey steel armature had been erected when he was brought onto the scene, which makes sense architecturally. Anyone have useful info? Doug butler (talk) 05:10, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- There's a really interesting account by Apponyi in the State Library collection at [1]. Cool to read, and he is clear that he did the scuptural work. - Bilby (talk) 05:41, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. Yes, I got down to External links and been reading the .pdf. A great interview. So the stuff in Monuments Australia is way off beam. Even the spelling Glenn Senner, repeated ad nauseam should be Glynn Sennar. Doug butler (talk) 05:55, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- The Goulburn Post has Glyn Sennar, of recent memory. Doug butler (talk) 07:08, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- And for Gary Dutallis read Garry Dutaillis] Doug butler (talk) 07:17, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
