Name

Should this be titled "2024 Portland, Oregon City Commission election"? The previous election pages have that specific title for local government elections. AndrewSDillman (talk) 19:58, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Endorsement Standards

So our job is to be following Wikipedia guidelines while being educational. I've studied several local races and statewide races however and there's a problem with sourcing endorsements. Most endorsements that are recorded are only really covered by Twitter or the campaigns themselves or in Portland's case ads and voters pamphlets. That presents a challenge to provide quality content. While we can agree self sourcing are unreliable, perhaps we can rely on statements by people themselves? That's how most people endorse these days and in local races, endorsements aren't covered extensively in the media, even locally prominent officials, only on occasion. It's the exception rather than the norm which makes it difficult to educate readers on the election using those standards. In order to provide an unbiased, quality article, I pose this as an open ended question of how to improve the current system, rather than making a specific recommendation. So in this article specifically as a base, what can we do to make it more accessible and educational while following Wikipedia's guidelines and standards, and improving the current situation? Alternatively we could rely on Multnomah County Voters Pamphlet Statements because those require the signature of the endorsers. GrandPeople44 (talk) 18:31, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
