Historical County Citation

Spiffy sperry thank you for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately, I can’t find a news article citation that specifically states my claim. I could however add citation for each of the elections from the New Jersey division of election. But it would involve multiple citations. And I don’t won’t to crowd it with too many citation tags. If there is a way I can add more than link to a citation tag then I’ll be happy to be do it.

But I don’t know if citation is necessary for Salem County not voting for the winner for the first time since 2000, and that Biden is the first democrat since 1992 to win without carrying Salem County. Especially considering that people can go back and look at previous Wikipedia pages for New Jersey Presidential elections easily and the presidential election results in general. At the top of the page you can click on past election results. I understand that information and citation is needed to verify the information on Wikipedia pages but the information on those Wikipedia pages I’m talking about have their information cited and verified.

On the pages you can see that: 2020: Trump (R) won Salem, Biden (D) won 2016: Trump (R) won Salem, Trump (R) won 2012: Obama (D) won Salem, Obama (D) won 2008: Obama (D) won Salem, Obama (D) won 2004: Bush Jr. (R) won Salem, Bush Jr. (R) won 2000: Gore (D) won Salem, Bush (R) won 1996: B. Clinton (D) won Salem, B. Clinton (D) won 1992: Bush Sr. (R) won Salem, B. Clinton (D) won Pentock (talk) 20:19, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See this policy for guidance on using other Wikipedia articles as a source. It says, "Do not use articles from Wikipedia (whether this English Wikipedia or Wikipedias in other languages) as sources. .... Content from a Wikipedia article is not considered reliable unless it is backed up by citing reliable sources. Confirm that these sources support the content, then use them directly." I have generally found county-wide election information in other Wikipedia articles is not verifiable, as there are either no citations or the data in the citation is behind a paywall. If a factoid can't be found in a news article or other reliable source, then maybe it's not really notable. --Spiffy sperry (talk) 22:35, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Map

The counties of New Jersey do not look geographically accurate like they used to, instead they look like someone sloppily made them and said, that’s good enough. Does someone know how to fix the map of who carried what county and with what percent back to how it originally was, back to a geographically accurate map? You have to click on the map and sign up for a Wikipedia commons account. You can discuss this on the page. And you can discuss this with the person who made the map. I tried to change it back twice and I even said the old map was more accurate. But it keeps getting reversed. So I’m currently trying to discuss this with the person who made the edit. The precinct map on the page fails to note that it is based on Harvard's VTD estimates and not on actual results as New Jersey did not release precinct-level results in 2020 due to mail balloting changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:601:8600:B890:C88:3C96:D35F:AE91 (talk) 23:12, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing on Age Demographics?

How come there's nothing in this article on the age demographics of the election? But there is a substantial amount of trivia in this article, which is useful for obscure luncheon conversation. Isn't state age demographics available for this election? Stevenmitchell (talk) 23:52, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
