Election articles

@Devonian Wombat: Why are my edits being reverted? California elections do not follow other state elections which have separate party primaries. So the notion of adding "Democratic primary" and "Republican primary" are factually incorrect as that does not even exist in California. All candidates run under one primary regardless of party affiliation and the Top 2 vote getters advance to the general election. I also do not appreciate you simply reverting all my edits (which I took time to find extra sources on information of candidates, and make election boxes) without doing any research yourself on the nature of California elections. Please look at past California election articles, it has always been formatted like this so. Stop reverting my edits and look at the history of California articles, also Georgia does not have blanket primaries, only in cases of special elections. They have regular party primaries for elections. Washington is also formatted this way if you look at their articles with no mentions of "Democratic primary" or "Republican primary" because those simply do not exist. First of all, I am well aware of how California elections work. Please stop acting in such a condescending manner towards me, and you have already pinged me once, I actually had replied to you, and your comment forced me to redo this reply. Now that we are done with all this, I would like to say that I do not believe differences in electoral law are reasons for having discrepancies between articles, since it is very clear that parties still exist and candidates identify with them. Also, I would like to state that in the article 2020 United States Senate special election in Georgia candidates are formatted normally, and above all I would like to have an actual discussion rather than you constantly pinging me to call me an idiot. I apologize that I came off condescending, but its important to understand that Democratic or Republican primaries do not exist in California, because all candidates are listed under one ballot. So I think the best way to edit these articles is to simply put the candidates all under one list listed alphabetically and adding their party affiliation in parentheses. My main reason for wanting the candidates separated by party is that even though all candidates are in the same primary, they are still affiliated with different parties within it. Therefore, people reading this page would likely want to know who is in what party, and having them in separate sections makes this easier in my opinion. I understand your point, but within each subsection/district race, candidates are listed twice (once in the candidate section with brief job descriptions/electoral history) and within the results table, to reinforce the fact they are running under a certain party. I agree with you that election articles should be uniform and standardized, but I think exceptions need to be made if states have different types of primaries (in the case of Washington, California, Louisiana).VietPride10 (talk) 07:40, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Should this DCCC poll be added or not?

There's a Tulchin Research DCCC internal poll for CA-25 showing Smith at 30%, Knight at 26%, Garcia at 13%, Papadopoulos at 6%, Uygur at 5%, "Someone else" at 7%, and "Undecided" at 13%. Twitter/ Social Media Endorsements

Why are endorsements issued via twitter or social media not permitted? This has become the main way endorsements are issued. Wikipedia has many errors wrt to CA congressional districts

I have voted in the 95062 area since the late 70s. The congress people have been Leon Panetta, Sam Farr and now Jimmy Panetta. His website says 19th district but Wikipedia shows Zoe Lofgren as representing the 19th district. Kevintimba (talk) 19:33, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New boundaries for 2022. Before the 2022 elections Zoe Lofgren was the local congresswoman. Panetta is now the Rep. Benawu2 (talk) 21:30, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
