South Indian Education Society (SIES), founded in 1932, is one of Mumbai's oldest and most esteemed educational institutions. SIES encompasses a high school, a diverse group of arts, science, and commerce colleges, as well as various academic and professional institutions of higher learning, serving over 18,000 students.
History
SIES was established in Mumbai by M. V. Venkateshwaran, with six students, being one of the oldest educational societies in Mumbai.[1] A new SIES Complex at Nerul in Navi Mumbai was inaugurated in 1996.[2]
In 2010, the income tax department raided the premises of the South Indian Education Society and the residences of some of its office-bearers.[3]
