Sky Comedy was a German television channel, which was operated and owned by Sky Deutschland. The channel was launched on April 1, 2021.[1]
History
Launch
The channel was launched on April 1, 2021 along with Sky Crime. Comedy shows by Germany's most successful comedians, a varied program of local and international Sky Originals as well as exclusive HBO and Showtime formats ensure your daily dose of humor.
Dieter Nuhr will kick things off on April 1 with the Sky Original production A Short History of Humor. In addition, the Quatsch Comedy Club by and with Thomas Hermanns finds a new broadcasting home and can be seen alongside the new episodes Comedy@Sky with Tutty Tran, Erika Ratcliffe, Ingmar Stadelmann and Mr. Schröder from April 1.
Closure
On May 30, 2023, it was announced that Sky Comedy would be removed from the platform in German-speaking countries by mid-September, meanwhile Curiosity Channel (formerly Spiegel TV Wissen) and Spiegel Geschichte would be discontinued by the end of June.[2][3] The channel was closed on September 27, 2023 after 2 years of broadcasting.
